Club Triumph Area Meeting

Update - June 2006
Our area meeting - on the first Tuesday of each month - at The Royal Oak in Naseby is still trotting along quite nicely. The turnout over the winter and spring months has been pretty healthy, though there's been a dip in the number of Triumphs turning out which will hopefully in prove as we move into late Spring and Summer.

The gathering is still dominated by Triumph TR7's with a half-hearted challenge from the Spitfire clan fading now... even one of the Spitfire owner's has succumbed and bought himself a TR7! That's what we like to see. Though we gather under the Club Triumph banner we welcome all Triumph enthusiasts no matter what club you a member of (or perhaps you are not in any of the clubs). Most people attending are in more than one Triumph club and we do promote events for other clubs that we think will be of interest to those attending.

Three Triumph's at Naseby

We have a diary of events that we will be supporting this year, there's other shows/runs which I'll try to cover and encourage people to attend - even if it's not as an group. We were probably one of the quickest areas off the blocks this year, getting a few cars out early in the 'show season' for an event at Wicksteed Park in Northants.... TRisha was unable to make it as she was SORNed at the time. The Wicksteed show was the second Leicester/Northants backed event - following on from a strong turnout at Daventry in 2006.TR7's older brother - the TR6

This year will see at least one more TR7 in the car park on a Tuesday as the co-pilot has succumbed to Wedgeness and bought an auto DHC (see elsewhere on this site). With luck we'll also break our 14 car record of last year, but for that we need the weather to improve... I fear that Summer was indeed that Thursday back in April; Yep the weather is officially pants here!

So these are the events to pencil in then this year - there's a bit of fixture congestion at the beginning of July! I'll be attending the TR Drivers event at Billing but as a group there's likely to be a convenient meeting point and a convoy to Hampshire for the Club Triumph National Day... a shame that July 2/3rd is so popular!
